The Next September Issue

Being the die-hard magazine junkie I am, I was thrilled to hear that Carine Roitfeld, former editor-in-chief of French Vogue, has confirmed she will be launching a quarterly print magazine covering the subjects of fashion, beauty and art  [insert applause here]. Recognizing the power of the internet, Roitfeld stated that she would “start with print” even though she initially wanted to do an online magazine.  Though she is not giving up much in the way of the name of the magazine, she did name famed photographer Mario Testino, fashion editor/stylist Marie-Amelie Sauve, and Harper’s Bazaar Creative Director, Stephen Gan as part of the “dream team” she would be working with on the magazine [insert tiny squeals of delight here].

I am super excited about Roitfeld’s vision for the magazine. In an interview with online magazine Dazed Digital, Carine spoke of wanting to make the magazine “. . . more iconic, more collectible” she went on to say she wanted to “make something really beautiful, chic, different . . .”

Despite my growing addiction to fashion, art and design blogs, I will forever be addicted to the touch of the glossy page. I have nothing against the Kindle or the Nook, but I must say, I do prefer the book!

The first issue will be a September issue due out next Fall . . . . in English!!
